Dar Es Salaam — A media survey conducted by the Legal and Human Rights Centre (LHRC) on child rights in Tanzania last year reveals that there is increasing incidences of children denied food, clothes , support and security. She cites a case of a nine-year old boy in Dar es Salaam who was rescued from repeated beatings from his late mother's sister. The boy narrated that when his mother died four years ago, her younger sister took custody of him and that he had seen his father only twice since.
