Uganda: ADB to Rebuild Masaka Market

Kampala — Masaka Municipal Council has received sh3b from the African Development Bank (ADB) to upgrade the municipal central market.

The mayor, Charles Kasibante, told New Vision that construction of the market is scheduled to begin on September 29 and will take 18 months. He said the funds will be channelled through the central government. Kasibante said the vendors currently operate in the middle of the road, especially on Fridays, the official market day.
