According to a new report released by the World Health Organization (WHO), people suffering with mental health disorders are being overlooked by the majority of development and poverty programs.
Dr. Michelle Funk, coordinator of mental health policy and substance abuse department at WHO told MediaGlobal,"While mental and substance use disorders account for 13 percent of the global burden of disease, up to 85 percent of people with mental disabilities in low and middle-income countries do not have access to any form of quality treatment."
