Kenya: Court Orders Closure of Filthy Mombasa Market

Nairobi — The Mombasa Town Clerk has been ordered to immediately close one of the municipal council's oldest markets due to poor sanitation and maintenance.

Senior Resident Magistrate Timothy ole Tanchu issued the order after the area district public health officer David Ngereri sought a court order to have Town Clerk Tubmun Otieno close Majengo Municipal Market with immediate effect.
