Tanzania: Local Currency Set to Gain Further

Dar Es Salaam — There is high prediction of shilling to appreciate further following a stable trend in exports and the depreciation of the US dollar at the international market.

Economists say that the local currency will continue to remain strong in the next two months. The shilling, in the last one-and-half weeks, gained strongly against the US currency by almost 4.0 per cent to 1,470/-, down from 1, 530/- per dollar.
