Nigeria: Abuja Court Reinstates Sacked PDP Exco

Abuja — An Abuja High Court on Wednesday reinstated the Executives of the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP), in Anambra State even as it held that the state's exco which was illegally dissolved by the National Working Committee of the party, must remain in office till December 16, 2011.

In his judgment, Justice Hussein Baba Yusuf equally faulted the National Working Committee, NWC, of the PDP, over what he described as a calculated attempt on their part to bastardise both the provisions of the 1999 constitution, as well as Article 14(1) of its own constitution.
