Nigeria: The Nation Imports Over U.S.$3 Billion Worth of Food - Adamu

Abuja — Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the National Agricultural Foundation of Nigeria (NAFN), Dr. Abdullahi Adamu, says despite the country's natural endowments and huge agricultural resources, Nigeria still imports food worth over $3 billion every year.

Disclosing this yesterday at a press briefing on the upcoming 2010 National Agricultural Show, the chairman stated that this year's show is unique as it had been made to be part of the celebration of Nigeria's golden jubilee.
