Nigeria: Monarch Appeals for Bridge Over Arhavwarien River

Warri — HIS Royal Majesty, Solomon Okukeren III, the Ovie of Arhavwarien Kingdom, has appealed to the Delta State Government, to construct the Arhavwarien bridge to link the coastal communities with the hinterland.

The monarch made the appeal in his palace at Arhavwarien in Ughelli South LGA of Delta State.

He said when constructed, the Arhavwarien bridge would link Arhavwarien Kingdom to other riverine communities which would bring speedy development to the area.

He regretted that the absence of a bridge over the river had caused untold hardship and economic loss to the residents of the riverine communities as they had to paddle long distances to their destinations. He stressed that the situation had brought under- development, poverty, unemployment and frustration to the life to residents of the area as well as reduce the business activities of the area.
