National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has alerted of an alarming level of abuse of codeine, a substance used in the preparation of cough suppressants have reached an alarming level in Nigeria.
This has forced the agency to commence a policy change on the use of codeine of the substance in Nigeria, with the likelihood that it may be removed from the list Over-The-Counter Drugs (OTCs).
