Tanzania: Three Parties Lead in Exit Polls

Dar es Salaam — EARLY election results obtained on Sunday indicated an initial close race among CCM, Chadema and CUF, with each party claiming victory in the presidential, parliamentary and councillorship polls in a number of polling stations in several Mainland and Zanzibar constituencies.

By the time we went to press on Sunday, the contest was still too close to call at least in the initial stages as CCM registered impressive victories in a number of polling stations in the country while Chadema and CUF claimed outstanding wins in others.
