The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) recently issued a list of politicians who it said had graft cases pending against them in courts.
The list contained the names of ex-public office holders, including former governors. Some of them are known to be vying for high public offices in the forthcoming 2011 general elections. The anti-graft agency published the names of the politicians on its website, and sent copies to the various political parties in the country, cautioning them against fielding those in the list as candidates in the elections.
