Nigeria: Senate Rejects Motion to Immortalize Ken Saro-Wiwa

The Senate yesterday rejected a motion seeking to immortalize Ogoni activist, Late Ken Saro-Wiwa who was executed by the military junta of late General Sani Abacha in 1995.

The motion which was sponsored by Senator Lee Maeba (PDP, Rivers) also urged the Senate to direct the government to declare November 10 every year as the Ken Saro-Wiwa day and name prominent national monuments and roads in the FCT after him.
