Gambia: Batch Faye Files Appeal at the Supreme Court

The interlocutory appeal of Batch Samba Faye at the Supreme Court of The Gambia against the state came up last Friday, 12th of November 2010.

The appellant is asking the Supreme Court to stop The Gambia Court of Appeal from hearing his appeal on the grounds that the original case file of the case and the exhibits tendered in the High Court during his trial are lost. Batch Samba Faye was convicted and sentenced by the High Court, presided over by the then Justice MA Paul to death after the said High Court found him guilty of the offence of murder.
