Forces of the transitional government and Ahlu Sunna Waljama'a have retaken over the control of Balad-hawo town of Gedo region in southern Somalia, just hours after Al-shabab forces seized it in overnight.
Locals said that the fighting between the two sides broke out as Al-shabab forces attacked the government troops in the town who recently seized the control of the town. The sound of heavy gunfire could be heard at Mandere, a town in Kenya and neighboring town as both Al-shabab forces and the government troops with Ahlu Sunna Waljama'a, killing about 20 including the warriors and civilians.
