Nairobi — Big crowds hardly turn up at his campaign rallies; the presidential candidate himself struggles to state his party's ideology; but with his slow, bottom-up approach, Jaberi Bidandi-Ssali, 73, is keen to change Uganda's politics.
In an interview, the oldest presidential candidate in the race said his People's Progressive Party -- admittedly a largely unknown entity on the political scene -- is fielding a candidate at the top as well as at the parliamentary level. This, he said, is a good sign that the party is fairly well grounded by building slowly from the grassroots.
