Presidential aspirant of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Alhaji Atiku Abubakar said he was humbled by the decision of the Committee of Northern Elders Political Forum that unanimously adopted him as a northern consensus candidate to challenge President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan in the party's forthcoming presidential primaries.
Atiku commended former President Ibrahim Babangida, former National Security Adviser General Mohamed Aliyu Gusau and Governor Bukola Saraki of Kwara State for accepting to abide by the decision of the committee even though they "are eminently qualified for the office of president."
