Windhoek — Opposition parties' failure to form a strong alliance or coalition against the ruling party, Swapo, has led to their dismal performance in this year's regional and local authority elections.
According to political analyst and senior lecturer at the University of Namibia, Phanuel Kaapama, there were very few surprises in the elections. Parties that rejected alignment with others, like the All People's Party (APP), did not have very good results even in their stronghold areas like Kavango.
