Liberia: Pray for Côte d'Ivoire - President Urges

press release

President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf on Wednesday urged Liberians and other residents to remember neighboring Côte d'Ivoire as that country experiences political violence in the wake of the disputed presidential elections.

Performing the official lighting of the National Christmas Tree on the grounds of the Executive Mansion, the President described the season for Côte d'Ivoire as one of concern, one of fear and one of uncertainty. "Let us pray for them for we know that we have been on that road before, and we know what it is and what they are going through," the President reminded Liberians, adding, "pray for them, that God will help them to find peace because their peace is also our peace."
