The Police on Friday blocked Muslims from holding a meeting at Lira Primary School, where Sheikh Muhamad Yusuf Balinda was expected to be re-instated as the district Kadhi of Lango Muslim district council.
Balinda had been on suspension for five years over embezzlement but was reappointed by Sheikh Shaban Ramadhan Mubaje, the Mufti of Uganda.
