Uganda: Family Charged With Murder

HAJJI Suleiman Ssesolo, his wife Zikula Nabukenya and his son Bashir have been jointly charged with the murder of an infant, in Bukoto, a Kampala suburb.

The couple and their 18-year-old son allegedly murdered an unidentified baby on December, 8, at the Northern Bypass.

They were charged before a grade II magistrate at the Kampala City Council Court.

They were later taken to Luzira prison. They will be brought back to Court on January 14.

Police said investigations are on to identify the murdered child and its parents. They said many people have come out to report missing children.

The family was arrested on December 8, following the discovery of the child's body in Bukoto.

Suleiman Mpiima, a local council official, said the remains were found a few meters away from Ssesolo's residence.

However, Meddie, one of Ssesolo's sons, protested the arrests, saying the family was innocent.
