AS I went around Kampala's wetlands recently, I remembered a story of a small insect, such as an ant, that can cause the demise of an elephant. While the tiny insect is not as powerful as the elephant, it can enter its nose and drive the mighty elephant to hit its trunk against huge trees.
The hitting reduces the elephant's trunk to pulp of flesh leading to over-bleeding and death.
