South Sudanese troops have killed six rebels in two days of clashes in Unity state near the north-south border, while one civilian has been killed in Jonglei state in fighting between the army and forces of militia leader David Yau Yau.
In Unity state, Gatluak Gai rebels attacked the base of the south Sudanese security force, the Sudan People's Liberation Army, authorities said on Saturday. Two rebels were killed and 26 were captured on Friday, and a further four were killed and six captured on Saturday morning.
