Welshman Ncube, the newly elected leader of the smaller faction of the Movement for Democratic Change (MDC) has started his first term at the helm of the party on a political knife edge as it emerged this week that a splinter group is contemplating taking his executive to court challenging its legitimacy following last weekend's congress described as a sham by some disgruntled members.
Indeed, it has been a baptism of fire for Ncube - an academic lawyer who has been professor of law at the University of Zimbabwe.
