Nairobi — After successful exploration activities on two oil wells in the Albertine basin, Tullow Uganda is now seeking local suppliers as it prepares for intensive commercial production.
This is in spite of a protracted tax dispute between the oil giant, Heritage Oil and the Uganda government. While the exploration phase was dominated by foreign contractors due to a lack of specialised local firms, the increased pressure to integrate them as per the company's policy has prompted Tullow to widen its procurement scope.
