Uganda: Victims of Trigger-Happy Soldier Cry Out for Justice

Families of five people who were killed by a soldier belonging to President Museveni's Guard Brigade are yet to receive compensation from the government more than a year after the fatal shootings.

On the night of May 2, 2009, a UPDF private, Nicholas Mucunguzi, working with the then Presidential Guard Brigade-now Special Forces Group, ran amok at a popular drinking joint on William Street in Kampala and shot five people dead, injuring eight others before taking his own life.
