Gambia: FBJDCYDA Holds 3rd Empowerment Forum

Foni Bondali and Jarrol Districts Children and Youth Development Association (FBJDCYDA), recently held a three-day youth empowerment forum in Sintet Village, under the auspices of the Child and Youth Office of Eastern Foni Federation.

The theme for the youth empowerment forum was: "Youth participation and partnership in the war against drugs, crime, unemployment and corruption." speaking at the ceremony, Yaya Tamba, chairman of FBJDCYDA, welcomed participants to the forum, whom he described as the key elements of national development. Tamba also advised participants to take the forum seriously.

Ward Councillor of Sintet, Momodou M Bah expressed delight about the forum and advised young people to remain united and work for the interest of the development of The Gambia. Pa Ansu Sanneh, a volunteer from the National Volunteer Service Centre, said that volunteering is the art of freely performing valuable services for communities and individuals at little or no financial benefit to the volunteer.
