Nigeria: FG Votes N5 Billion for Afforestation

Abuja — ECOLOGICAL Fund Office - an agency of the presidency charged with ecological projects management has adopted a double-barrel approach to tackling ecological degradations in the country.

In two separate consultative meetings with ecological stakeholders held yesterday in Abuja to facilitate early completion of contract awards, Permanent Secretary of the Fund, Mrs Ibukun Odusote set May 1, this year as timeline for contractors and their consultants to complete work at 15 erosion sites in the South-East zone and same timeline for contractors to develop one million tree nurseries for each state of the federation to fight deforestation.
