Nigeria: Eighty-Eight Women to Vie for Elective Offices, Says Anenih

About 88 women across the country are currently aspiring to capture elective offices in the forthcoming April general elections, Minister for Women Affairs and Social Development, Iyom Josephine Anenih has disclosed.

According to Anenih, who spoke at the 13th Regular Council Meeting of the National Council on Women Affairs and Social Development, 35 of the women are seeking to occupy seats in the state houses of assembly; while 31 others are running to represent their various federal constituencies in the lower chamber of the National Assembly.
