Sierra Leone: Land Owners Extol SLEMCO

Freetown — Thousands of land owners in the Port Loko district have lauded the Sierra Leone Exploration and Mining Company (SLEMCO) for what they referred to as total respect and inclusiveness displayed by the company in its strive to commence operations in the district.

Speaking on behalf of his colleague land owners at the second public disclosure meeting on the environmental, social and health impact assessment of the Port Loko bauxite project held at the district community centre in Port Loko town, Pa Sorie Mbalu Kamara expressed that SLEMCO was the only mining company that has fully shown greater respect for land owners by involving them in their operations since its inception.
