Angola: Over 9,000 Mosquito Nets Delivered to Health Units in Caála

Caála — The health units of Caála district, central Huambo province, received during this month at least 9,500 mosquito nets to be distributed to pregnant women and children below five years of age, under the programme to combat malaria.

Speaking Tuesday to ANGOP, the director of public health in the municipality of Caála, Alberto da Silva, said that the team will work to intensify the basic preventive measures to ensure the reduction of mortality rate of malaria in this area.

The public health management of the district also has made available 8,800 mosquito nets to be distributed.

In 2010, were distributed 17,800 mosquito nets to pregnant women and five-year old children in the municipality of Caála.
