United Bank for Africa PLC (UBA) has announced its appointment as a Collecting Bank by Abuja Geographic Information System (AGIS) to receive all revenue payments on behalf of the agency from the general public through an electronic Collection Platform known as UBA Global Bank Collect, in a bid to fully automate the land application request processing in the Federal Capital Territory.
The Abuja Geographic Information System (AGIS) is an agency under the Ministry of Federal Capital Territory, established as a computerised Geospatial data infrastructure and a one-stop shop for all land matters for the FCT.
It also facilitates land acquisition and collect all land related revenue for the Federal Capital Territory.
According to Regional Bank Head Abuja Bank, Mr. Dan Okeke, the new electronic collection platform is poised to completely eradicate the agency old manual system of processing land application request, which is considered administratively high in cost, cumbersome and time consuming for reconciliation and audit purposes.
He said that the UBA Global Bank Collect, a web based, in-branch and interbank e-collection platform that helps to effectively render customised collection service on behalf of organisations to their cherished customers worldwide is wholly owned by UBA.
Commenting on the enormous advantage of the new e-collection platform, Okeke said, "The new system of collection for AGIS using UBA Global Bank Collect will increase revenue volume, reduce cost of revenue drive for AGIS, and eventually reduce Turn around Time (TAT) for land application request in the FCT."
He further stated that the solution platform has ability for possible integration with client core business applica-tion, robust and detailed audit trail revenue accounting report and reconciliation process which is very important for agency like AGIS to be able to achieve its identified deliverables.
"UBA will leverage on its over 700 business offices within the country and other countries of the world where we have our presence to drive the new Collection scheme for AGIS.
"Applicant are expected to walk into any UBA business offices, fill the customised AGIS deposit teller, make cash or draft payment at the counter, and return to AGIS with a copy of the deposit teller and e-payment receipt as evidence of payment to collect the agency revenue receipt."
