Those who are desperate for a change in the governance of Oyo State are quick to remind us that no governor has ever ruled the pace-setter state for two terms and that it will be difficult for any governor to break the jinx.

This expression finds general acceptance from the opposition parties as a way of consoling themselves from frustration arising from the reality of a crushing defeat at the polls, given the numerous achievements of the sitting governor. Added to this is the general feeling of a few elites who have the myopic belief that no one else from any part of Oyo State other than Ibadan can be the governor.
