Nigeria: Jonathan Tasks States, LGs On Security, Police Reforms

President Goodluck Jonathan Tuesday called on states, local governments and the private sector in the country to commence the payment of their own share of N1.5trillon meant for the Security and Police Reforms Programme in the interest of security.

The President made the call while inaugurating an aircraft/helicopter hanger for the Nigeria Police Force at the Domestic Wing of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja said the ongoing reforms in the police has made it mandatory for government to provide essential facilities and logistic equipment needed by the Force to ensure that government delivers on its primary responsibility of providing adequate security for its citizens.
