Nairobi — When he was appointed to head the Kenya National Examinations Council (Knec) in 2005, Mr Paul Wasanga did not expect to encounter sterner career tests than what he had overcome since he joined the council as a junior official in 1985.

But he soon realised that being thrust into the limelight as the face of the national examiner stretched his skills and will power to new levels.
