Tanzania: Banana Disease With Strange Symptoms Hits the Lake Zone

Bukoba — Perhaps the only difference between the banana bacterial wilt disease and HIV is that the former attacks banana plants while the latter affects human beings. The disease already poses a great threat over food insecurity the whole of Kagera and neighbouring regions in the Lake Zone engaged in banana farming.

The consequences of the wilt disease have been quite devastating in just few years of its outbreak, drawing similar attention from both local and international communities that are scratching their heads to reverse its effects.
