Sierra Leone: NAG Urges 50th Anniversary Committee Probe

Freetown — Corruption watchdog National Accountability Group (NAG) has urged the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) to thoroughly investigate the independence anniversary committee for alleged misappropriation of public funds meant for the celebration of the historic event.

The group, in a statement released on Friday, registered its utmost dismay over what it referred to as the persistence occurrence of corrupt acts displayed by some public officials in the "discharge of state assigned duties geared towards nation building and rebranding of the image of Sierra Leone".
