Tunis — Education Minister in the Interim Government, Mr. Taieb Baccouche met on Wednesday in Tunis, Convenor of the Coalition for an International Criminal Court (CICC), Mr. William Pace.
During the meeting, Mr. Baccouche said that the decision of the Tunisian Government to adhere to the Rome Treaty on the creation of the CICC shows its commitment to endorse international conventions and the will to enhance its position within the international community.
He added that the Tunisian community will seek to lift all objections on several conventions including the Convention on Elimination of all Forms of Discrimination against Women and the International Convention on the Rights of the Child.
The meeting also focused on ways to boost co-operation between Tunisia and the International Criminal Court and enhance the participation of the civil society in different fields of partnership.
