Fuel prices in Uganda have edged up sharply on the back of a product shortage that was sparked off by supply inefficiencies in neighbouring Kenya. A litre of petrol rose to Shs3,500 from Shs3,250 last week at some service stations in Kampala, Hoima and Gulu districts.
The price of diesel increased from Shs2,700 last week to Shs2, 930 in places like Gulu District. while in Kampala, fuel shortages were observed at some Total, Hared, and Shell gas stations.
