Tunis — Social Affairs Minister Mohamed Ennaceur received, late on Thursday morning, US Assistant Secretary of State for Population, Refugees and Migration Eric Schwartz.

The American official who visited, on Wednesday, Ras Jedir and the "Choucha Camp" paid tribute to the Tunisian people for their support and solidarity with the refugees to face up this emergency situation. Besides, He reminded the support provided by the United States of America to the International Migration Organisation (IMO) to guarantee the repatriation of the refugees, voicing his country's readiness to back up the national and international efforts at this level.

The Social Affairs Minister said that the situation in the borders are presently under control, stressing the need to speed up the repatriation of the refugees in particular the Bangladeshi and the Asian nationals.

Mr. Ennaceur reiterated call to all the governmental sides and the international organisations to exert efforts, on this level, to be "ready for anything that might crop up".
