Namibia: Japan Meltdown Should Serve As Warning - Earthlife

A local environmental lobby group has called on the Namibian government to take the nuclear disaster in Japan very seriously and to abandon nuclear power plans for the country.

"Not only are sustainable and safe alternatives cheaper than nuclear power, but they are also better solutions to the creation of decent and work and energy security, as well as the best solution to limit climate change," said Earthlife Namibia's Bertchen Kohrs in a joint statement with Muna Lakhani of Earthlife Africa, based in Cape Town.
