The Transport Licensing Board has sacked the staff of PSV certificate issuance office over corruption allegations. TLB chairman Hassan ole Kamwaro said over the weekend that over 20 officers were sacked and another team is being recruited to take over. This has created a crisis in the sector but the chairman maintained that the road safety in the country will not be compromised.
Speaking in Nyeri town after a two-day exercise of issuing licenses to matatu operators, Kamwaro said those affected were from Nyeri, Mombasa, Meru, Machakos, Eldoret, Nakuru, Kisumu, Nairobi and Kakamega among others.
