Nigeria: Amaechi Mourns Monarch - Condoles Abonnema People

Port Harcourt — Rivers State Governor, Rotimi Amaechi, has condoled with the people of Abonnema in Akuku-Toru Local Government Area over the demise of their Amanyanabo (king), describing it as a great loss for the Kalabari Kingdom.

Governor Amaechi said this when he paid a condolence visit to the family of the late Amanyanabo, His Royal Highness, Morgan Opuarudokubo Bob-Manuel JP, Owokori VIII of Abonnema. The governor, who reflecte d on the quality of leadership the deceased monarch contributed towards the return of peace to Akuku-Toru and Abonnema in particular, described the late Opuarudokubo Bobmanuel as an asset which "we have all lost to death." He enjoined members of the family, especially the Queen, Dame Constance Bobmanuel, the Abonnema Council of Chiefs and the people of the kingdom to look up to God as they mourn his demise.
