Nigeria: 'Obasanjo's Comments On Zoning Deceptive'

Some northern leaders have faulted the public reaffirmation of the existence of zoning in the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) by former president Olusegun Obasanjo, saying his action was an admission of guilt and against the negotiation with President Goodluck Jonathan.

Obasanjo had at the grand finale of the Jonathan/Sambo campaign at the Eagle Square in Abuja weekend affirmed the existence of zoning along the lines of the constitutional provision on federal character following consultation with the trio of former Head of State Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and General Aliyu Mohammed.
