Gambia: Soldiers, Scouts Clean Basse Health Centre

Upper River Region — Soldiers at the Basse Military Barracks led by their camp commander, 2nd Lieutenant Kalipha Y Jammeh together with scouts in Upper River Region (URR) last Saturday embarked on a massive cleaning exercise at the Basse Health Centre.

The exercise was meant to improve the hygiene of the health centre in order for patients to have an environment conducive for medical attention. In an interview with the Daily Observer, 2nd Lt Kalipha Y Jammeh, said that they deemed it fitting to give back to the community by clearing the health centre. According to him, the nature of the health centre at the time of starting the exercise was shocking. He added that the exercise has brought a good look to the health centre.
