Following Saturday's postponement of the National Assembly elections, the Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta has temporarily suspended its planned bombings of oil installations in the oil rich Niger Delta in order to allow for a safe general election.
The movement said it took the decision with the hope that the government to be elected would consider constructive engagement in the form of true dialogue as a way of bringing justice and peace to the people of the Niger Delta and the country.
