Kenya: Strathmore Hit KCA in a Premier League

STRATHMORE University beat Kenya College Accountancy (KCA) University 51-42 in a Premier League clash at World Hope Centre. The winners went ahead 12-9 in the first quarter and 16-7 in the second as KCA struggled to register double digit scores in vain. In the third quarter, they did well to take a 13-10 edge before both sides tied 13-13 in the last quarter. Tony Abondo nailed 13 points while keying some strong defence and Arthur Ameso collected 12 points, all of them coming from the free throw line. Strathmore are also the reigning University league champions.

For KCA, Dave Jabuya scored 10. Co-operative Bank of Kenya nipped Gladiators 56-53 in overtime after both teams settled for a 50-50 regulation time scores.Irene Makori pepped the Bankers with 17 points and Carol Ouma nailed 10. Mitchele Otinda led Gladiators with 13 while Rachel Makena shot 12. Sprite Storms had it all too easy as they thumped Kenya Polytechnic University 73-27 behind 16 points from Sylvia Omollo and 10 a piece from Mercy Wanyama and Irene Mauka. The students had 14 points Naomi from Kirigo.
