Lagos/Abuja — America on Thursday dispatched its Assistant Secretary for African Affairs, Johnnie Carson, to Nigeria to monitor the elections beginning on Saturday with the National Assembly (NASS) vote.
Before leaving Washington, Carson delivered a speech at the Woodrow Wilson Centre in which he described the ballot in Africa's most populous nation as being of grave and immediate concern to the United States.
