Kenya: Nairobi Intercontinental Hosts Bookers Party

13 April 2011

The Hotel Intercontinental, Nairobi, recently invited the people who had given them the most business in the past year and they came dressed to the nines. They call these people "bookers" as they book the facilities at the hotel. It had promised to be a party to be remembered and this one didn't disappoint. The evening started with a play telling the audience about the importance of doing significant events in their lives at memorable and exciting places (read fancy hotels like the Intercontinental). With the play done, eating and drinking and downright partying followed.

In the audience were Nkatha Mbaya of Marlborough Properties, Betty Ndichu, the corporate events manager Standard Chartered, and Mwanaidi Musa of IBM. Hosting the party was the whole team at the hotel led by their Austrian-born general manager Karl Hala who was curiously a bachelor for a whole two years when he was in Nairobi. No more we assume.
