Uganda: WHO Alarmed By Growing Drug Resistance

The World Health Organisation (WHO) says drug resistance is becoming more wide spread, making it harder to treat many diseases. This is leading to prolonged and expensive treatment and greater risk of death, urgent and concerted action is needed to slow the spread of drug resistance and limit its impact both medically and financially.

"The world is on the brink of losing these miracle cures," said WHO Director-General, Dr Margaret Chan in a statement.
