Kenya: Beware of Zebra Meat on Sale, Naivasha Told

Unsuspecting members of the public could be consuming zebra meat in Naivasha town. Several people have been arrested while skinning a zebra that was allegedly knocked down along the Naivasha-Nakuru highway.

District public health officer Samuel King'ori warned members of the public against buying meat from that has not been inspected. "Wild animals are unfit for human consumption as the meat has not being inspected," said the public health officer. King'ori said the war against illegal meat trade must be stepped up to avoid cases of poisoning.
